Food is an important part of Mexican daily life, holidays and culture. Hospitality is shown by providing guests with delicious homemade items. Many holidays have specific dishes that are prepared for the celebration.

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is November 2. It is a celebration that honors loved ones that have died.
  • Pan de Muerto (a special bread): this recipe is written in English and Spanish for a fun language lesson
  • Calaveras de Azucar(sugar skulls): prepare the skulls ahead of time and let the teens make the icing and decorate them

Día de los Santos Reyes (Day of the Three Kings) is January 6. This day celebrates the gifts the 3 kings brought to baby Jesus.
  • Rosca de Reyes: this special bread contains a small doll to be found by one person
